Philippine Politics: the Presidentials battleTWO CENTS WORTH OF OPINION

I was so sleepy last night that after my dinner, I retired to bed. But before I laid, a tv ad of a presidentiable flashed in my TV screen. It left me hanging for a moment. And made me think about how competent these people who wanted the seat in Malacañan Palace, the home to the Philippine president.

So, I wrote down something in my steno pad, things that, well, matter. At least for me. Or you can take a piece of it.

I made them short because I am a man of few words. Laughing.

Gibo Teodoro -- the perfect man in the wrong hands.

Ninoy Aquino -- my father is... My mother is... My father is... My mother is... (Oh well, if not for my idols- Sen. Benigno and Pres. Corazon- i'll have my doubts).

Manny Villar -- the right man and wrongfully accused. The rich who keeps on saying he's poor.

Dick Gordon -- the man of bravery but without money.

Erap Estrada -- crucified, denied and was jailed. The resurrection.

Jamby Madrigal -- the woman who keeps on talking. And talking still.

Nic Perlas -- please talk.

Reyes -- what's his name? Oh well, he's a man of intelligence. Why not run for senator for the meantime? Sayang.

Finally, it's over. Huh? Laughing again. Next time i'd talk more.

An Insight:Students from UP, UP Los Baños and PUP stormed CHED

"The youth is the hope of the fatherland."

This line was made famous by Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal, pointing to the young Filipinoes as the main force of success.

It's true. The youth has the sole power to make or break the Philippines' future. But now, can this be suitable still to ponder?

Sadly, personally, the said line fails.

Just a few days ago, students from University of the Philippines, PUP, and UP Los Baños stormed the Philippine Commission of Higher Education. This has something to do with the tuition fee increase in UP. Such increase drew heat among its students. As said, they attacked CHED, blasting the gate, breaking the glass door and throwing paintballs not just to the concretes but to persons.

Yes I know, an increase in the tuition fee is such a burden. I feel what these students felt. But was it proper for them to do those things? Have they tried to talk it out with the UP officers in a nonviolent way?

What was hurting us is the fact that we wanted to fix things with anger and too much emotion. We tend to lose our cool. Why these students did such acts? I thought UP students are more intellect than those averages? I thought they are mature enough not to do these? How pitiful.

Pardon me, curse me my dear fellow youth, but I will stand and tell you, these students were out of reason. Bring them behind bars. What they did was an act of rebellion and they also, without discretions, violated human rights.

Such a shame, Dr. Jose Rizal.

Philippine Romance Pocketbook

I just read 12 romance pocketbooks this day. Walang magawa eh.

Different authors, same old story.

Badtrip.

Here:

Right ka.

2. In just one kiss, inlababo ka na.

3. Marunong sa martial arts ang bida.

4. Laging may sex scenes.

Whew!

MEMORIES BESIDE ME

It was 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the wind was whispering a lonely tune and the radio kept on playing sad songs - what else these things would give me? Of course, memories - bittersweet memories.

I was sitting alone in an empty chair, and I mean alone. Alone in the house. Everyone were out to work and personal escapades. I stood up and wanted to take an air outside for a breather 'cause I felt my life was fading away from me. It's not unusual though.

As I opened the door, there it was - my past, standing right in front of me. She was out of words, too when we met eyes. Ailyn, my once beloved Ailyn.

She was looking for my sister, her bestfriend. But my sister wasn't around.

My heart trembled in tremor. She was beautiful still. And I shuddered to speak. The hate, the yearning, the love, stuck inside me.

Our love story was a thing of the past. I don't know about her, but it was where I still existing - the past.
